Kat Britt Receives 2024 Harriette Walters Leadership Award

As announced on Saturday, April 13 in Albany, during the Regional Awards Celebration, KAT BRITT has been named our Harriette Walters Leadership Award Winner for 2024!

Harriette Walters (Master Director 700, Greater Nassau Chorus) revealed our winner and presented the award to Kat on behalf of the Region 15 Management Team.

Region 15 Celebrates Our 2023 Members of Note and Golden Members

We are pleased to celebrate our Greater NY/NJ Region 15 Members of Note and Golden Members!

Each year our choruses have the opportunity to recognize one of their own who goes above and beyond in their service to the chapter. "A Member of Note is someone who works tirelessly for the chapter, has a positive influence on the chapter, and is a great ambassador for the chapter."

These special honorees were selected by their choruses and their names were revealed at VocalFest September 8-10, 2023.

Leadership Day 2024 with Paula Davis

On Saturday, February 3 we gathered on Zoom for Region 15’s annual Leadership Day to learn from Paula Davis. As always, the program was open to everyone in the region – both current and aspiring leaders. The event was moderated by Region 15 Education Coordinator, Jean Schoenlank, and was attended by members from around the region.

The day included advice for both musical and administrative leaders. In addition to the sessions led by Paula Davis, there were breakout sessions led by members of our own Regional Management Team and Regional Faculty.

Region 15 Quartets "Ramp Up to Regional"

On Saturday, January 27 Region 15 hosted Quartet Day 2024: Ramp Up to Regional. This was a new one-day event for quartets to help prepare for regional competition and/or polish their vocal and performing skills.

Let It Glow, Let It Glow, Let It Glow!

A fun and festive time was had by all at the Region 15 Holiday Glow on Friday, December 15 -- our fourth annual! We've enjoyed keeping up this virtual tradition, even as more and more events are returning to in-person. The Holiday Glow is our annual chance to get together with folks from all corners of the region for some low-key laughs and mellow merriment!

VocalFest 2023 with Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl – Materials Now Available!

On September 8-10 we gathered in Parsippany, New Jersey for a wonderful weekend of learning with a full slate of fantastic events! In addition to sessions with our Special Guest Faculty, Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl, the event featured classes led by Region 15 Faculty, performances by regional quartets, a VocalFest Chorus, and a Quartet Chorus. At Saturday night’s banquet we held a send-off celebration for our International 2023 competitors* and enjoyed special performances, we announced this year’s Member of Note honorees** and applauded our Golden Members (with 50+ years of SAI membership), and we cheered four chapter milestones***.
