VocalFest 2023 with Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl – Materials Now Available!

On September 8-10 we gathered in Parsippany, New Jersey for a wonderful weekend of learning with a full slate of fantastic events! In addition to sessions with our Special Guest Faculty, Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl, the event featured classes led by Region 15 Faculty, performances by regional quartets, a VocalFest Chorus, and a Quartet Chorus. At Saturday night’s banquet we held a send-off celebration for our International 2023 competitors* and enjoyed special performances, we announced this year’s Member of Note honorees** and applauded our Golden Members (with 50+ years of SAI membership), and we cheered four chapter milestones***.

Katie Blackwood Receives 2023 Harriette Walters Leadership Award

As announced on Saturday, April 22 in Albany, during the Regional Awards Celebration, KATIE BLACKWOOD has been named our Harriette Walters Leadership Award Winner for 2023!

Harriette Walters (Master Director 700, Greater Nassau Chorus) revealed our winner, and Lori Britt-Horvath (Region 15 Management Team Coordinator) presented the award to Katie.

Registration Now Open for Region 15 Competition Webcast

Region 15 is hosting a competition webcast! There will be a $25 per person access fee this year. This fee covers the full weekend, for both the Quartet and Chorus competitions, as well as post-competition on-demand access. In addition to sharing live events from Albany on April 21 and April 22, the on-demand version of the webcast will include all on-stage performances, plus the for-evaluation video submissions from those who are not performing in person.

Region 15 Celebrates Our 2022 Members of Note and Golden Members

We are pleased to celebrate our Greater NY/NJ Region 15 Members of Note and Golden Members!

Each year our choruses have the opportunity to recognize one of their own who goes above and beyond in their service to the chapter. "A Member of Note is someone who works tirelessly for the chapter, has a positive influence on the chapter, and is a great ambassador for the chapter."

Leadership Day 2023 with Kim Wonders

On Saturday, February 11 we gathered on Zoom for Region 15’s annual Leadership Day to learn from Kim Wonders. As always, the program was open to everyone in the region – both current and aspiring leaders. The event was moderated by Region 15 Education Coordinator, Jean Schoenlank, and was attended by members from around the region – plus a visit from Elaine Hamilton, of the Sweet Adelines Regional Leadership Committee.

The Regional Management Team Needs You! (Now accepting applications.)

We are now beginning our search for candidates on the Regional Management Team (RMT) for the two-year term of May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2025.

We are actively recruiting to fill the Director Coordinator, Events Coordinator, and Marketing Coordinator positions for the 2023-2025 term — but we are recruiting on an ongoing basis for all roles on the RMT, so any interested candidates are encouraged to apply.

On October 21-23 we were thrilled to offer our first in-person education sessions since before the pandemic. We gathered in Parsippany, New Jersey for a wonderful weekend of learning with a full slate of fantastic events! In addition to sessions with our Special Guest Faculty, Dr. Jim Henry, the weekend featured classes led by Region 15 Faculty, performances by regional quartets, a VocalFest Chorus, and a Quartet Chorus. At Saturday night’s celebration we welcome back our International 2022 competitors* and enjoyed special performances, we announced this year’s Member of Note honorees** and applauded our Golden Members (with 50+ years of SAI membership), and we cheered four chapter milestones***.
