What a summer Liberty Oak Chorus is having with coaches like Karen Breidert in June to work on musical artistry and finesse and then Jean Barford in July to work on sound. We so enjoyed both of these very talented coaches and continue to work on the techniques given to us to become even better singers!
We also have a Summer Quartet program to help each member become more independent and confident. It’s educational and fun as Katie works with the quartet chosen at random to sing in front of the chorus and be coached by Katie. Contact Katie Blackwood and she will share with you the...more
Stolen Moments is thrilled to announce the addition of Robin Benowitz as tenor in "Stolen Moments". Robin has been a Sweet Adeline since 1999. She was an English teacher who spent 17 years as the musical director for her school's drama program. Currently, she is a stay at home mom, who keeps busy with the occasional tutoring job, a collection of children's poems that she is writing, and the weekly chorus newsletter. She enjoys spending time with her husband Phil, her son Daniel, and their dog Max.
Twin County Chorus has been very busy this summer, with activities that took many of us beyond our Thursday rehearsals. Our ten members who went to Ireland in June with the Harmony Travel Chorus, a traveling chorus of SAI members, had a blast; sightseeing, singing, and building friendships every day. We’ve been learning new songs, and getting our ideas together for our fall fundraiser. Several prospective members checked us out during our membership drive in July, with some expected to audition soon. The highlight of our summer has been the recent participation of 12 TC members at the...more

Liberty Oak Chorus Wins First Place in Albany
Our chorus had worked very hard gearing up for regional competition this year. Our director, Katie Blackwood, got sick 4 days before we were to appear on stage. She was in the hospital and wouldn’t be able to direct us in contest so we moved on to Plan B! Katie spoke to Marilyn Block who is one of our associate directors and it was decided that Marilyn would direct us at regional competition. We were all concerned for Katie, but Marilyn moved us along at rehearsal the Wednesday before competition and...more
