Balancing Act Quartet would like to thank Christine Gunderson for singing with us during this pandemic year!  However, other demands are now making it difficult for her to continue quartetting, and she is stepping down as tenor in the quartet.  We are now looking for another tenor!  We are located in the Central NJ area, love to do performances, and are interested in competing. We have a large repertoire and like to rehearse weekly.  We also love to have fun--on chorus weekends away, we are among the last to stop singing and go to bed!  If this sounds interesting to you please contact us...

Colleen Marron  May 16, 1950 February 19, 2021 Long Island Sound Chorus

Just hours before Colleen passed on, one of our members posted a check for her dues along with an appreciative note thanking Colleen for her generous, reliable service as our chorus’s Finance Coordinator. The news of her passing came as a shock. Our chorus members could not believe that Colleen was gone. She was always there for every rehearsal, management team meeting, fundraiser, contest and show.  Colleen received anesthesia for a dental procedure, came home, went to bed,  and never...

Heart of New Jersey Chorus was saddened to hear of the passing of longtime past member, Pat Reynolds, on February 1st, after a long illness.  Pat was a Sweet Adeline for nearly (or over) 60 years.  HONJ was her last chorus, where she was a member along with her sister, Ginny Cebello.  Pat sang Bass when she was with us, but had sung Baritone in several choruses before joining us.  In heart she remained a baritone, and would often slip into the bari notes when we informally sang the older songs at our holiday parties or post competiton celebrations!  With at least one chorus, she competed...

Heart of NJ is proud to announce that we had our first ZOOM Retreat on February 5th and 6th, 2021!  We are fortunate to have had two fabulous coaches with us. On Friday evening, Kathleen Hansen imparted some valuable information on vocal production.  On Saturday morning, Jennifer Cooke taught us some of her wonderful tags, in addition to some great techniques to use on our musical journey.

In the afternoon, a few of us attended some of two-time Queen, Karen Breidert's afternoon classes at the Region's Leadership Day forum.

Then, at 7:00p.m, HONJ returned to...

It is a very sad time for all of us with the passing of our dear chorus sister Lynn Weiner. First and foremost, Lynn was a loving mother to her son Matthew and beloved wife to Jeff. Lynn was a baritone, front row member, past board member, energetic physical warm-up team member, and quartet member. She will be greatly missed.

It is with a heavy heart that we inform the region of the passing of our beloved member, Michie Palaia. She left this world on September 10, 2020, after a year-long battle with cancer. We will always remember her beautiful smile and rich bass voice. Mostly, we will forever cherish her loving, generous heart and caring, thoughtful nature. Michie always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone, even as she was dealing with her own devastating illness.
In addition to her chorus life, she sang in her church’s...
