Hello, Region 15 Members
Barbara Wright and I wanted to share “From Wish List to Contract: Finding a Convention Home,” the presentation we gave at VocalFest.
We encourage everyone to take some time to watch the presentation. Understanding the requirements, limitations, and challenges involved in securing a convention location will provide important context for how we arrived at this decision.

We know members have questions about the move, and we don’t have all of the answers yet. Convention planning for Turning Stone will not begin until after the 2027 convention, so there are still many details that have not been determined.
What we do know is that Turning Stone meets all of the requirements mentioned in the presentation, puts the Region on stronger financial footing with estimated savings of approximately $25,000, and gives members the opportunity for an excellent contest and an improved convention experience.
We recognize that for some members, Turning Stone will mean a longer drive and an increase in travel time. We explored multiple locations farther south, but none met all of the requirements needed for our convention.
We’ll continue to share information as more details become available.

Note: You may soon notice a new name change for the Sheraton when you visit the hotel or browse online. The hotel’s new name is “Dolce Hotel by Wyndham Parsippany” (affiliated with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts). All services and amenities you have come to enjoy will continue—and will now include Wyndham Rewards. All current arrangements made with Region 15 will stand in effect as is.
