Colleen Christi Willett - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Council
Colleen, who has sung a variety of music genres throughout her life, has always been deeply interested in the intersections of music, people and history. She has a passion for combining music and theatrical performances on stage, in front of a live audience, as a form of connection between humans.
She sang with Melodia Women’s Choir NYC, a premiere treble-voiced 35-person chorus dedicated to singing music composed by and for female voices, for over seventeen years, acting as both the Alto 1 Section Leader and Events Coordinator for a dozen of those years.
She’s a very proud member of the bass section of Sirens of Gotham and has been both Membership VP and Interim President previously. She was honored to be Sirens’ Member of Note 2023.
She sings bass in her quartet, Off the Record (2025 Region 15 Most Improved Quartet), who competes in both SAI and BHS, also a member of BHS Gotham Chorus (2024 3rd Place International Medalists.) A relatively new barbershopper, she is deeply grateful for both Sirens and Gotham Choruses, and how willing they are to explore, adapt, grow and expand the understanding of who barbershoppers are and what fun, creativity, and authenticity can be explored and valued through our amazing hobby.
She is honored to be appointed to SAI’s DEI Committee, and is looking forward to enriching the connections between the society’s honored history and looking forward to a robust, ongoing growth, merging the past and the present in harmony.
