It’s been snowing outside but things have heated up for Greater Nassau Chorus! Competition preparation, luncheons, new members, and performances mean that we have been busy ladies. 

GNC is SO happy to announce three new members!  Welcome to Alicia Spiegel, Jeri Schwartz, and Laura Lynch, who have joined us as sisters on the risers.  We are thrilled to have them.  With competition preparation in high gear, our newbies have jumped right in.  The excitement is contagious as GNC gets ready to join our sister choruses in Albany and ring those chords.

Monkey Wrench quartet is excited to sing in the Open Division of this year’s Region 15 contest! We are four friends who met when we were all members of Hickory Tree Chorus. We had been busy with separate musical commitments over the years, but when a monkey wrench (or two) separated our chorus lives, we made our dream of singing together a priority while we still could.

Our retreat was held at the Princeton Marriott the weekend of March 9-11th with the dynamic coaching duo of Dale Syverson and Peggy Gram. The weekend was exhilarating, educational, exhausting, and great fun!  Dale and Peggy work so well together and the chorus responded wonderfully under the direction of our Master Director, Katie Blackwood.

On Saturday, March 17th, Repeat Offenders, along with 5 other a cappella groups, competed in the New York Harmony Sweeps. We were excited to represent barbershop singers and thrilled to be sharing the stage with our Sweet Adeline Sisters from Region 1, Saffron Quartet, who wowed the audience and judges alike taking 3rd place! Heart of NJ Chorus is proud to announce the addition of seven new members since last year's Regional Contest! 

Tenor - Anna Conigliano;  Baris - Virginia Dearborn and Rosanne Labi-Crawford; Leads - Cheryl Raley and Sherry Barell; Basses - Beverley Willliams, and (former/returning member) yours truly!

Twin County Chorus enjoyed a full-day coaching session this past Saturday, March 3, with Katie Blackwood, a Regional Faculty/Coach. Katie certainly has a way of lighting up the room with her enthusiasm and excitement. We learned, we sang, we laughed. What a great day! Check us out on Facebook!
